Mediation is a process of facilitated interest-based negotiation in which a neutral mediator assists parties to reach a mutually beneficial resolution.
The Mediation and Conflict Resolution Extension Certificate program prepares you with the foundational knowledge to understand conflict and build competency-based skills in communication, negotiation, and third-party interventions with a focus on interest-based mediation.
Get an in-depth look at power, impasse, intense emotion, high-conflict behaviour and possible conflict resolution strategies as you learn from our experienced instructors.
In addition to determining your own conflict style, investigate various influences in conflict, and gain the skills to approach and manage different types of conflict situations. You will prepare to effectively facilitate interest-based mediation processes by demonstrating your learning in a practical, skills-based assessment.
