Calgary Suzuki Summer Institute
We are excited to announce the return of the ever popular Suzuki Summer Institute with opportunities for both students and parents, and for music teachers, too!
Enhanced with more programming, this year’s institute promises to immerse Suzuki musicians in a full and exciting summer music experience. Time spent with Master teachers brought in from abroad is a unique opportunity to hear fresh voices and experience teaching that helps students take their skills to the next level.
The institute is a time of real sharing amongst teachers, students and parents. Each participant will leave with new tips and ideas that can be applied once back in the lesson studio!
For students
Students get to work one-on-one with Master teachers in masterclasses, enjoy making music and learning new skills with friends in group classes, experiment with different instruments in enrichment classes and practice performing. Students always come away with deeper skills, more confidence in their abilities and a renewed excitement for making music.
For parents
Parents get to attend all classes and witness their child learn and grow. Parent only sessions dive into topics including fresh practice ideas, building motivation and keeping children inspired by music!
For teachers
Teacher specific courses are taught by SAA Teacher Trainers. Teachers who haven’t yet trained to become Suzuki teachers can begin their training with pre-requisite introductory classes and “Book 1” studies.
Current Suzuki teachers can work toward the achieving the next level in their training or can revisit a level to refresh and deepen their current teaching skills. Teachers interested in the Suzuki Method are also invited to observe student classes as part of the institute.
