Course description

Strengthen your ability to design effective learning experiences that meet both learner and organizational needs. In this course, you will learn how to outline a needs assessment plan that identifies key learner and organizational requirements, set clear learning outcomes, and design engaging assessments to measure success. You’ll gain hands-on practice in planning learning activities and developing instructional materials that align with your goals. Guided by adult learning experts, you will apply proven methods to real-world scenarios and leave with practical tools you can use immediately.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to

  • outline a needs assessment plan to identify factors that inform course design.
  • determine learning outcomes that align with learner and organizational needs.
  • design an assessment strategy that aligns with identified learning outcomes.
  • plan learning experiences that will support the achievement of learning outcomes.
  • develop instructional materials that support the achievement of learning outcomes.
