Course description

The curriculum explores how to use observation and the play space to create responsive environments and activities to support children’s learning, individual needs, and a sense of belonging. 

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • recognize how to use observation and listening strategies to co-create responsive environments and supportive learning activities with children.
  • recall observations of children’s play using various documentation tools.
  • identify how play supports children’s learning and development.
  • identify meaningful activities and indoor/outdoor or natural spaces for play and learning based on the child’s dispositions to learn as well as their needs and curiosities.
