Course description

The objective of this course is to provide students with an opportunity to build experience as a product manager and employ the learnings from Course 1, 2 and 3 of the Certificate in Product Management through MVP Build Process.

This course will enable a student to demonstrate their learnings in a comprehensive format that will give you a wide exposure to the skills product managers should have regardless of industry or product format you’ll work on in the future.

A significant component of this course will also be spent learning from industry practitioners of product management to learn about the different POVs of the role.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • develop, implement and present the findings of a research approach to understand and scope out customer’s problems.
  • showcase proficiency with data in gathering qualitative and quantitative feedback and using the findings to prioritize project and customer choice.
  • develop testable hypotheses about the problem and the customer that can be included to gather feedback.
  • use Lean startup methodology and develop an approach for MVP development from hypothesis formulation to a roadmap of how to de-risk assumptions along with the iterative build approach.
  • demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and achieve buy-in through effective storytelling of the vision and roadmapping for stakeholders.
  • produce a set of KPIs for the project and demonstrate an understanding of leading and lagging indicators.
