Course description

Gain practical classroom experience in a K-12 classroom. Focus on observation, inquiry and reflective planning, and understand the roles and responsibilities of an education assistant.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • explore the relationship between practice and theory in education.
  • recognize the application of the policies, regulations, and procedures within the classroom environment. 
  • identify elements of the "Rights and Responsibilities of an Education Assistant" in the classroom.
  • examine the roles and responsibilities of teachers, education assistants, and students in the classroom.
  • examine the varied curricular and philosophical structure of a teaching plan.
