Course description
Thinking of moving from Bach to boogie, from Stravinsky to stride? Pick up the elements of jazz through individualized lessons with our accomplished and enthusiastic jazz instructors. Students will explore the differences and similarities between classical piano and styles which fall under the heading of "jazz" including Swing, Latin, Funk and more! Students will be exposed to elements of harmony – how it was pioneered by impressionist composers and then adopted by jazz musicians, as well as improvisation – once so important in classical music but now found primarily in jazz.Prerequisites
