Build your knowledge of the employment world, focusing on the rewards of work, planning for work, job safety skills, interviewing, learning styles, first days on the job, evaluation and job maintenance.Learner outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Successful First Days
- Demonstrate how to make a good first impression. Name communication strategies for success including active listening, asking questions, following directions
- Identify goals for learning the job. List 5 strategies to ensure personal safety on the work site. Job Safety Skills
- Identify potential safety hazards at home and at work. Recognize and understand terms of WHMIS
- Understand importance of being award of safety standards at worksite
- Develop confidence in approaching employer with questions related to safety
