Ariel Gonzalez is a native of Cuba now living in Calgary, Canada. He started his career as a musician at an early age, attending specialized music schools in his home country. He graduated from the National School of Music of Cuba in 1994. Mr. Gonzalez holds a Bachelors' Degree in Piano Performance and Chamber Music from the Higher Institute of Art of Havana, Cuba where he graduated with the highest honours (Summa Cum Laude) in 1998. He studied with important and well-known Cuban pianists such as Ileana Bautista, Andres Alen, and Ignacio Pacheco. Mr. Gonzalez came to Canada in 1999 after being accepted on a full scholarship to study the Master's Degree in Piano Performance Program at the University of Calgary, Canada where he studied under the guidance of Professor Charles Foreman, graduating in 2001.
Mr. Gonzalez received several awards in numerous piano competitions in his native country during his years as a student in both the National School of Music and the Higher Institute of Arts of Havana, Cuba. He has also performed as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles in Cuba, Italy, Switzerland, and Canada.
Mr. Gonzalez currently teaches piano at Mount Royal University in Calgary where he has been a faculty member since 2001, as well as in his private studio. He has also been invited several times to participate in the Mountain View Connection Festival of Song and Chamber Music, held every summer in Calgary. Mr. Gonzalez has also been an adjudicator for festivals and competitions on several occasions. He frequently performs throughout his home city, keeping a busy performance schedule as a soloist and as a chamber musician.

Hailed as a pianist with "brio and imagination" (The New York Times), possessing "natural grace and refinement" (Calgary Herald) as well as "speed, clarity, breath and musicality" (La Presse), Canadian pianist Scott MacIsaac has performed internationally as a soloist throughout North America, Asia, and in much of Western Europe. His most recent successes include top prizes at the Shigeru Kawai International Piano Competition, Dudley International Piano Competition, the Brant International Competition, and the Royal Overseas League Competition. He has performed several times in many of Britain's top venues, including Steinway Hall, St. James Picadilly, Wigmore Hall, Cadogen Hall, Milton Court, Barbican Hall, St. John's Smith Square, and Symphony Hall (Birmingham, UK). As a concerto soloist, he has collaborated with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra, and the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra. Scott is also an avid chamber musician and was recently invited to perform as a guest artist in the Salzburg Chamber Festival.
Scott has won numerous awards in many competitions-most recently being awarded the Grand Prize in the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal Manulife (OSM) Competition. While a student at Yale University, he won the Prokofiev Competition there and made his Carnegie Hall debut performing in Weill Recital Hall. Last year, Scott returned to New York as one of few artists selected to participate in Jonathan Biss' Carnegie Hall workshop devoted to the late works of Beethoven, Schubert, and Brahms. In Canada, he has been the recipient of several other prizes, including those at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra Piano Competition, the Shean Piano Competition, and two consecutive Grand Prize Awards in the Canadian Music Competition. As a concerto soloist, he has performed with several top orchestras. He recently made his debut with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra at the Maison Symphonique, opened the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra's 2016-17 concert season, and joined the YOA Orchestra of the Americas on their Nordic-Baltic tour. He has performed in some of Canada's top summer festivals, including the Orford Music Festival, the OSM Virée Classique Festival hosted by Maestro Kent Nagano, Domaine Forget Festival, and the Banff Summer Music Festival. He has recorded for a number of radio stations. His recording for CBC Radio 2 was aired several times in 2016 and he was subsequently named one of the "30 Hot Canadian Musicians under 30" in CBC Music's 2016 edition. He recently made an appearance on Radio Hong Kong and Television's (RTHK) program, "The Works" and RTHK Radio 4.
Scott graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a Bachelor of Music and an Artist Diploma degree where he studied with Ronan O'Hora. He was the recipient of the Chairman's Prize and the Kathleen Higginson Piano Prize in recognition for his high achievements at the school. He also holds a Certificate in Performance and a Masters of Music degree from Yale University, where he studied with Boris Berman and Peter Frankl.
Alongside his successful performance career, Scott is very passionate about teaching the appreciation and love of music to the younger generation. As a piano pedagogue, Scott has taught piano performance for undergrad students in both Yale University and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has also taught piano performance at the Preston Manor Music Academy in London, UK. He is often invited to give public masterclasses-the most recent one taking place at Memorial University in Newfoundland. A native Calgarian, Scott studied with Marilyn Engle throughout much of his youth and he was a student for several years in the Mount Royal Conservatory Program for Gifted Youth and holds many fond memories. He was the Calgary Kiwanis Festival Rose Bowl Winner in 2010.

Linda Kundert holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern California. She has an Associate Teacher’s Diploma from Mount Royal University and an ARCT Teacher’s Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto (RCM). Her major teachers were: Willard Schultz, Charles Foreman, Priscilla King, Peter Turner, James Bonn, Adam Wibrowski, Donald Bell, Dr. Marienne Uszler and Dr. Jean Barr. Ms. Kundert is a successful independent studio teacher, RCM senior examiner, Frederick Harris editor & reviewer, festival adjudicator, collaborative artist, and she is a master class and workshop clinician. She is the Co-Founder, President & Artistic Director of Cassa Musical Arts, which celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2018.
Ms. Kundert was honoured with the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association (ARMTA) Recognition Award in 2006, was Chair of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Association (CFMTA) “Peak Performance” Conference and Celebration held in Calgary in 2005, and in 2011 was presented with the CFMTA Hugheen Ferguson Distinguished Teacher Award. Ms. Kundert was also honoured with the City of Calgary 2015 Community Achievement in the Arts Award, and was awarded Teacher of Distinction by the RCM in 2016. She is currently a piano instructor at Mount Royal University and teaches from her home studio in Okotoks, in-person and online. Her students continue to receive many awards and scholarships in both performance and composition. Ms. Kundert loves to teach; she has nurtured many students of all ages and levels. With her guidance, more than 40 students have achieved their ARCT and Licentiate diplomas. For fun, she enjoys riding her horses, Leo and Caity, and she plays competitive softball.

A native of Almaty, Kazakhstan, Janna (Zhanar) Banman is a professional pianist, chamber concertmaster and devoted piano teacher. She has extensive international experience as she has taught around the world in countries such as Kazakhstan, Indonesia , France, Norway, and Canada.
Based on each student's strengths and needs she adapts her teaching style to the individual with the idea of building a solid musical foundation and inspiring musical enthusiasm.
Janna holds advanced musical performance degrees including a B.A (Kazakhstan) and MMus (University of Calgary) under tutelage of Marilyn Engle. Her musical development continued with a Postgraduate Diploma in Piano Performance in Norway under tutelage of Erling Ragnar Eriksen.
She believes that learning the piano can be a powerful experience that will enhance your life in many ways and she enjoys helping students learn some of the life lessons and critical skills that come with mastering the ins and outs of the instrument.

Marianne is a well-recognized figure in the Calgary music scene. She has been motivating students in a wide variety of settings for over 35 years. Having earned a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary, she is well equipped to teach, inspire, nurture and support your child. She has collected several awards and recognition as a teacher. Using a wide array of creative techniques and activities within a proven structural platform, Marianne has established and maintained a large, successful, confident, and satisfied class of students. Inspired by the uniqueness of each child, she motivates, directs, and provides the skills necessary for success in music as well as life, in general. Her students have performed exceptionally well at both the local and national levels. Marianne knows children. Her wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as her passion for music and children, keep most students returning until adulthood, at which point they bring their own children to her studio.
In addition to maintaining a busy studio, Marianne continues to work as a collaborative artist, as she has done for most of her life. All the skills that apply to her teaching also apply to her accompanying as she works with young string players in the Academy Program at the MRU Conservatory. In addition to strings, she has extensive experience playing for choirs, vocal soloists, wind players, musical theatre groups and ballet classes.

Sylvia graduated from McGill University in Montreal and obtained her Kodàly training from the University of Calgary. Sylvia has taught as a preschool/kindergarten music specialist at the Calgary French and International School and she has been a Kodàly instructor and an accompanist at Mount Royal University conservatory since 2005. She loves working with children and believes that learning through singing is a fundamental step in developing musicianship. She is now back in Calgary after spending over two years in Montreal and is very eager once again to be part of the Mount Royal family to pursue her love of teaching.
